Vitamins
[ICON=vitamins.gif]Vitamins are substances that are important to keep your body healthy. They have to be obtained from outside as they cannot be synthesised by the body. Each vitamin is named by giving it a letter of the alphabet and they can be broken down into water soluble and fat soluble vitamins. So the water soluble vitamins include vitamin C, the B vitamins and the fat soluble ones include vitamins A, D and E. Deficiencies of certain vitamins can cause skin problems, tiredness, unhealthy teeth and bones, bleeding gums, poor wound healing, itchy eyes, cracked eyes and poor night vision.
